The men will be shot in the heart and their coffins have already been taken to the Island. No clemency, despite pleas from the prisoners' families and world organizations.

hehehee..okooo....The Director, Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, has confirmed that the troops of the Nigerian Army rescued 200 girls and 93 women during a raid on Sambisa Forest on Tuesday.

When the news of the rescue was broken on the tweeter handle of the military on Tuesday, many Nigerians had gone online to speculate that the freed ladies included the Chibok schoolgirls.

However, Olukolade did not confirm whether or not the Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram on April 14, 2014 were among the rescued ladies.

Suspected cultists kill barber, others in Edo

 

A 27-year-old barber was on Tuesday shot dead by gunmen suspected to be cultists at New Benin in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

It was learnt that the late barber, simply identified as Patrick, was accosted by his assailants in front of his shop and shot at a close range.

This Governor sacks over 2,000 aides

Bauchi State Governor, Mallam Isa Yuguda, on Monday sacked over 2, 000 of his political aides but retained very few on essential services.
The sacking, which was contained in a statement by the Permanent Secretary, Political Affairs, Government House, Hashimu Yakubu, on behalf of the Secretary to the State Government, stated that the sacking of all Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants and Personal Assistants was with immediate effect.
Although, the number of aides sacked was not disclosed in the government statement, it was, however, learnt from a government source that they might well be over 2, 000.

Fracas in Onitsha....police man shoots driver dead

hehehe...Yesterday, a policeman allegedly shot dead a 'Hero' beer truck driver during a road rage in Onitsha, Anambra state. According to eye-witnesses, the truck driver had parked his truck in a manner the policeman said was disturbing other road users. The policeman who was part of an escort van came down from his police vehicle, approached the truck and an argument ensued. For reasons best known to the police officer, he opened fire and shot dead the truck driver.

This morning, an angry mob, including truck drivers and conductors came out in their numbers to protest the death of their colleague. They burnt tyres and blocked the gate leading to the company where the policeman worked. According to Daily Trust, Gen Buhari read the riot act to members of his family in Daura, Katsina state recently. A Family source said he gathered all his children and family members together and advised them to seek meaningful ways to make a living, stressing that no family member of his will enjoy any preferential treatment. He also told them that non of them is welcomed to Aso Rock if they are not invited, adding that the Villa is a place for serious minded people and not for idle family members.

South African govt expresses anger over Nigerian govts recall of her ambassadors

Wetin dey want make we do na....South African government has released a statement expressing their displeasure over Nigerian government's decision to recall her envoys following Xenophobic attacks in SA. In a statement released by the South African government's Department of International Relations and Co-operations, SA government described the decision as an unfortunate and regrettable step, adding that only Nigeria has taken such a decision since the xenophobic attacks began.

President-elect Gen. Buhari has signified interest to probe the alleged missing $20 billion from the coffers of the NNPC. Speaking with APC members from Adamawa state at the APC National headquarters in Abuja today April 26th, Gen Buhari queried the dismissal of Former CBN governor now Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi II who raised alarm over the missing money.

"I heard that some people have started returning money; I will not believe it until I go and see for myself. Imagine a situation where the former CBN governor who by God ‘s grace would later become the Emir of Kano raised an issue of missing billions of money, not in Naira but in Dollars, $20 billion. What happened, instead of investigating to know whether it was true that the money was missing or not, they simply found a reason to remove him. So these are the issues we are talking about" he said in Hausa

The date for the execution is April 29 and the Government has enlisted the local funeral director in Cilacap, the nearest port to Nusakambangan, or Death Island, to inscribe the names of those to be shot by firing squad and the date of their deaths.
