Dear Madam,

PETITION

I write this petition following repeated out-cry by young doctors (House Officers) in Calabar and environs.

There is an allegation that there is a group of people who have a WhatsApp group called "[Documina / Docum... Networking]" [group name unclear] — Administered by the following numbers: +234 706 566 5935, +234 706 566 5935(?) [OCR repeated?], 0818726241, 09031314921, 234 916 938 4843, +447531735681, +995568771080 (see attached). These people request young doctors to pay between N250,000 - N300,000. When a minimum of ten doctors have paid the group admin would inform this set of doctors what day/time the MDCN portal would be opened for them; then at that time these doctors get ready for it, rush and complete the opening before the information gets to other doctors waiting for opportunity for internship.

While this allegation may not be very easy to prove, there are strong pointers it could be true by the following questions which may need answers:

  1. Why is it that Batch B would have about 50 doctors who had completed the program, yet the portal would not open for the 50 candidates at once?

  2. Why is it that only one state in Nigeria would complete the opening of 16 doctors on two consecutive times? [some phrasing unclear in original]

  3. Could there be a link between the managers of the WhatsApp group with the operators of the MDCN portal or is there a saboteur who is obliging them in this evil act?

SUGGESTION

A. The person in charge of opening the portal should be changed.
B. A centralized control should be put in place to ensure trust of MDCN by young doctors in Nigeria.

I look forward to your prompt positive response.

Accept the assurances of my highest regards.

[Signed]

Dr. Felix Archibong
Deputy, Chairman Medical Advisory Committee
