❤️ A DAY OF HEALING, COMPASSION AND HUMANITY IN ASABA

OMIWA FOUNDATION USA – ONE DAY FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH, ASABA
26th September, 2026 | Oshimili South LGA, Delta State

Some days end when the sun goes down.
But some days leave footprints in the hearts of people that remain forever.

26th September, 2026 was one of such days.

What began as a medical outreach in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, became much more than a healthcare programme. It became a powerful demonstration of love, compassion, dignity and hope.

Through the commitment of OMIWA FOUNDATION USA, more than 200 patients were attended to, listened to, examined and cared for. Men, women, elderly people and families came seeking medical attention, but what they received went beyond consultation and medication—they encountered people who genuinely cared about their wellbeing.

🩺 MORE THAN 200 LIVES TOUCHED

Over 200 patients received medical attention during the outreach.

For some, it was an opportunity to finally speak about symptoms they had endured silently for months. For others, it was the first time they could access basic medical services without worrying about the financial burden.

There were consultations, medical assessments, laboratory services, eye screening, dental care, medications and counselling.

Behind every patient was a story.

Behind every medical record was a human being.

And behind every

 prescription was a simple message:

“Your life matters. You are not forgotten.”

❤️ THE WIDOWS: A MOMENT THAT TOUCHED EVERY HEART

Perhaps one of the most emotional moments of the outreach was the passionate attention given to the widows who came to the programme.

These women did not simply come as patients.

They came carrying stories of loss, responsibility, resilience and survival.

Many have had to become both mother and father to their families. Many have endured difficult seasons quietly, putting the needs of their children and families ahead of their own.

At the outreach, they were treated with dignity, patience and genuine compassion.

They were listened to.

They were attended to.

And they were given gifts as an expression of love and solidarity.

The gifts may have been simple, but the message behind them was enormous:

“We see you. We remember you. You are valuable. You are not alone.”

There were moments when words were simply not enough. The smiles, embraces and expressions on the faces of these women told a story that photographs could hardly capture.

For a moment, their burdens were shared.

For a moment, someone else carried a little of their weight.

And for a moment, they were reminded that there are still people who care.

🌍 HEALTHCARE WITH A HUMAN FACE

OMIWA FOUNDATION USA continues to demonstrate that healthcare is not only about medicines, machines and diagnoses.

Healthcare is also about humanity.

It is about sitting beside a frightened patient.

It is about listening to an elderly woman who has nowhere else to turn.

It is about reassuring a mother.

It is about giving medication to someone who cannot afford it.

It is about examining the eyes of someone whose vision is failing.

It is about treating a patient with dignity regardless of social or economic status.

And sometimes, it is simply about giving someone a reason to smile again.

As the chairs were packed away and the outreach gradually came to an end, one thought remained:

We may not be able to change the whole world in one day, but we can change someone's world in one day.

More than 200 patients were attended to.

Widows were embraced with compassion and presented with gifts.

Families were encouraged.

Patients were treated.

Lives were touched.

Hope was renewed.

And the message of OMIWA FOUNDATION USA became even clearer:

Where there is a need, we will strive to bring compassion.
Where there is suffering, we will bring hope.
Where there is sickness, we will bring care.
And where people feel forgotten, we will remind them that they matter.

Asaba, thank you for opening your hearts to us.

This was not just a medical outreach.
