CHEI.....WATCH THIS TRENDING VIDEO.........QUACK NURSES ....SEE COMMENTS

I'm not surprised, not new. It is everywhere in the country and most nurses who work in private hospitals are also overseeing the training. It is part of their job description.

Many private hospitals are on this table.

Hmmmm.... I condemn this kinda practise. However, most of us here do not know the kind of hardship people face in this country. If the govt has set systems in place to encourage schooling, I bet parents won't take their children to such places. This is the consequence of a failed govt.
School of nursing fees, medical school fees, community health worker fees are really exorbitant and unaffordable by the poor masses. If you check well sef, the MD might not even be a doctor. A failed govt results to exodus of licensed doctors which further cripples the health system. This will result to what we have in the video.

As far as that community is concerned that "MD" is really doing a great job. Rural practice in Nigeria is something else entirely.

No  nurse should complain of  the Auxiliaries because ,most of the Auxiliaries are trained by them

It baffles me when we blame the Government for almost everything. I think it is high time people starts taking responsibilities for their actions.

If this people tells you how much they pay as fees for the auxiliary training ehmn ,you will know that ignorance cost more.

I could remember in two private hospitals in Lagos, I faced persecution from the MDs because did not sell my profession by training these quacks

Similar repulsive training is also happening in pharmacy. Last month when I visited a friend in Owerri , one man came to see my friend that he wants to learn drugs with the intention to go and open drug store . Though the pharmacist doesn't want to offend the man but trick him away .
Things must be done in the proper way . If one has the determination to do anything he should be guided to follow laid dowyn procedure for patient and general public safety, You can be d

This has become an epidemic.

I have worked where people without the least formal education, not even a first school leaving certificate are recruited for nursing training.
People who cannot read and write parading as nurses.
They just pay a token and are absorbed.

I became a "demon" for raising alarm.I was threatened and warned to mind my business.

The males are "specially" trained to work as medical doctors, they asists surgeries during the training.

They are also made to do rotations in the laboratory and pharmacy.

I don't know what NANNM is doing about this...

If you want to be a nurse ,go to nursing school or university, You want to be a pharmacist, go and write jamb ,gain admission and be  a trained   pharmacist. Drug knowledge is too complex to just go and learn by observation without the scientific manipulations. I have seen many guys having a mini hospital in some community and doing all sort of surgical operations with just waec , they come to pharmacy to enquire of drug knowledge and then go outside start claiming they are medical doctors and at times the local government will even be commending their dubious efforts

Yes oo
A years ago, I was opportuned to work as a research assistant under USP where they try to know "the clinical experience of Physicians, Nurses, Mid-wife etc with oxytocin" believe it that only 10% of the so called hospital I visited in a particular city/town are not worthy of being called Hospital, na so so Auxiliary and trainees they there. I wept

There's no point playing  the blame game......the condition is bad enough.
This  trainings are done by professionals with misplaced priorities  period and quackery  spans through  all arms of the  medical profession.
It is the solution to the identified problem that is paramount  now....we are one body and the issue should be addressed as a whole since all are similarly affected.
Let's stop the division in our healthcare system then we can do better and be better.
Thank you. Goodmorning house!

So true, practically, school didn’t teach most of us nothing, an auxiliary nurse taught us most of d things we know practically, d only thing that make u higher than most of them is ur license to practice. Encourage them rather than cast them, u do not know their story,  my own opinion. Ok bye🙄

what! This is total absolute nonsense . I weep 😭 for this nation. Imagine those small boys who have not even written their junior waec. Gosh! The doctor need to be arrested with immediate alacrity!!!!! This is a timing bomb blast.  Any sick persons that falls into their hands are gone. This is getting out of hands.

That is a wrong impression.  Where did you get that from? What is the essence of clinical posting to the hospital? I don't know how universities do their posting, but, in college of nursing where i trained. We do like 3 months in class then 2-3  month in clinical practice in the hospital. We were allowed to do somethings but under supervision of registered nurses.
I understand the angle were you are coming from, i mean what you were saying. There is what we called learning on the job.

I am a Medical Laboratory Scientist and I see all sorts of quackery in the Laboratories around the country, All categories of people answering "Lab Man", some even answer Lab Scientist self

But you see Nursing, it's the most Bastardized of All Medical Professional Jobs in Nigeria. People without O Level, People that studied Art, Commercial students in Secondary school are all answering "Nurses"

It's Really Disheartening 😢😢

1. Now we have seen the video what have we done so far individually? The person who did the video, what has he done for the community there?

2. Who's to take the health care to the next level? The looting govt or the runaway doctors?

3. The health care system is in a mess. It's either we rise up and take the challenge of fixing it or some other non-professionals do it(of course in unprofessional ways).

4. Running a hospital in a rural environment can be very frustrating. Imagine trying to pay professional doctor and registered nurses from the meagre funds the patients come in with. This eventually culminates to such despicable practice where the "MD" tries to run clinic with professionally untrained personnels that his pocket can afford. If only govt health care centres can be set up such areas, I doubt if we will see such practices.

Maybe anyone can try to take a loan and run a clinic and see firsthand what it's like(especially in rural areas). 😊😊

[In reply to Adeniran Oluwaseun Opeyemi Enoch]
There's always a way out just that we are always gonna be Nigerians. Nigerians, they talk and talk and after 3 days the whole issue die down n life continues.
Sad, but that's us.
I now believe that saying that when you take us all to abroad and brings the white here, they will turn our place to abroad and we'll turn their place to our typical locality.
As a Pharmacist I served in faraway Gembu, the heart of Mambilla plateau and oh my God; the place is backward but Go to the Hospital where I served. The place is managed by a white man and he has transformed that place to abroad. I guarantee you that's the only place I've gone to in Nigeria that has 24hrs constant light meanwhile the community don't even have an electric power supply of their own.
This man will make sure all the professionals are on ground even if it's one.. And you see things working appropriately. There are assistants at all levels like Nurses assistant that runs errands for the nurses on duty and assist in little duties but a nurse must be in charge. The assistants makes the work light for the nurses.
There are assistants in Pharmacy that Carries cartons and arrange drugs after prescription validation by the Pharmacist.
The issue really is not money to pay the workers but greed. We are so greedy that we are looking for who to pay 10k a month or 5k a month. How much will it take to employ a Corper Pharmacist, Corper Nurses, Corper Scientist? etc.... Greed is killing us. What should be done is the renewing of our minds.
Nigerians, let's renew our minds and inculcate that renewed minds in the lives of people around us.
We are the only one who can build this nation. NMA, PSN etc will not build this country for us. Can they change our minds? NO
Can the Government change our minds? NO
You are the only one that can do it. Yes there's a better life out there but you are a Nigerian. Anytime you hear of our suffering, something must pinch you in the heart n reminds you where you failed. You could have contributed your quarter n make the country better.
If our heroes keep running away from responsibilities, by now we wouldn't have gotten independence......... Let's act Nigeria everywhere we go. You can change your mind n change someone else's

The video that was uploaded above is very irritating to say the least. Quackery shouldn't be encouraged in any way. At same time,I feel most of us are culpable in most ways than one. How about a trained licenced nurse or pharmacist who receives everyone around that he is a medical doctor and does some very crazy stuffs that he wasn't taught in school. I know a med lab scientist who tells everyone where I served that he is a doctor. He corners so many patients...committing all manner of medical atrocities which patients ending up with terrible outcomes most times. Same applies to medical doctors training quacks as nurses and pharmacists. That is extremely wrong. Very very wrong. Unfortunately, some pharmacists also train and use these nurses. Do know as a scientist that you have no business seeing a patient for any test whatsoever without the patient first seeing a doctor. A professionally trained pharmacist will reject to dispense drugs to a patient without a Doctors prescription. This is what is called standard! I know a pharmacy in Delta state that does ANC...consultations....abortions ...etc. .
Then you ask yourself; was he also trained as a midwife and medical doctor? If anything must be done,it must be done thoroughly well and it starts with us. Tell someone who you are and do only what you know is the standard practice at all times.I know nurses who corner patients...manages them until they run into trouble and will then look for a doctor to help them when they run into trouble knowing full well they weren't trained for this. Some go as far attempting and doing surgeries with terrible outcomes at times. If you must run a hospital, employ only professional trained and licensed people to run the hospital, otherwise forget it. Same goes to all of us. We shouldn't only cry foul when it affects our individual professions. Let's start by asking ourselves individually  if we are been professionally right in what we are doing daily. Then we can start the change from there. Thank you.
