Chinese Doctors and Nurses arriving Nigeria will have no physical contact with Coronavirus patients - Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila
Speaker of Nigeria's House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has shared details of his meeting with the two Ministers in charge of Health in country, following concerns expressed by indigenous medical practitioners and many Nigerians on the engagement of Chinese Doctors and Nurses for the management of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Recall the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) had rejected plans by the Federal Government to invite an 18-member Chinese medical team to help Nigeria in her fight against the deadly Coronavirus.

NMA President, Francis Faduyile had described the move as a "misplaced priority and a thing of embarrassment to the membership of the Association and other health workers, who are giving their best in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic under deplorable working conditions."

Gbajabiamila who met with the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanie and Minister of State for Health, Adeleke Olorunnimbe Mamora after some Nigerian doctors rejected the plan, stated that he extracted the following commitments from them;

1. The Doctors and Nurses will follow the protocol and be quarantined for 14 days once they arrive in Nigeria
2. The Doctors and Nurses will at no time have any physical contact with any patient
3. There will be strict compliance with all relevant immigration laws regarding work permits. We remain vigilant and Our engagment continues.
