Bayelsa state governor, Duoye Diri, in deep worship after Supreme court upheld his election (video)
Bayelsa state governor, Duoye Diri, went into deep worship shortly after news got to him that the Supreme court has upheld his election.

The Supreme court this morning dismissed the application filed by the APC, seeking a review of the judgement annulling the election of its candidate in the November 2019 election, David Lyon and instating Duoye Diri into office.

The court held that APC's application lacked merit and that the decision of the court cannot be reversed.

Diri was in the Abuja home of his predecessor, Seriake Dickson, when the apex court ruled in their favour. They went on their knees to woship and praise God for the judgement.

Bayelsa: Supreme court upholds judgement nullifying the election of David Lyon, says APC
The Supreme Court today upheld its decision nullifying the election of David Lyon as Governor-elect of Bayelsa state and reconfirmed Douye Diri as winner of the November 2019 state governorship election.

Recall that on February 13th, the apex court nullified the election of Lyon and his Deputy, Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo on the grounds that the latter ran for the election using forged certificates.

Dissatisfied by the ruling, the APC filed for a review of the verdict by the court.

Delivering judgement this morning, the Supreme court justices led by Justice Amina Augie, held that the application filed by the APC for the review of the court's judgement, lacked merit, and that the decision of the court is final. She added that the applicants failed to point out errors and added that no court on earth can review the judgment.
