Senator Godswill Akpabio has lost his reelection bid. The former
senate minority leader and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district, secured 67, 487.
His main opponent Chris Ekpenyong polled 136, 373 for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
Though
the results have not been officially announced by INEC, The Nation
newspaper reports that Akpabio lost the election which held last
Saturday.
He lost the seat to the PDP, a party he few months ago decamped from to join the ruling APC.
He joins Senate President Bukola Saraki as biggest casualties in the general elections so far.
