The British -Nigerian boxer defeated New Zealand star on unanimous points decision 118-110, 118-110, 119-109 following a tactical 12 rounds fight to add the WBO belt to his list of titles, WBA, IBF and IBO.
Joshua's victory in Cardiff was his 21st straight career win and the distance for the first time in his pro career fight.
Speaking after the fight, he said"I thought it was hard, but going the twelve rounds was light work. I know the bookies say I might get a knockout but forget the hype, Parker was a world champion.
"This was a boxing match, not a fight. Parker said this would be war, I said this would be boxing finesse."
He also added that: "Parker's a good young fighter, I'm sure I'll fight him again, but let's get Deontay Wilder over here to get an undisputed champion of the world," Joshua said afterwards.
"My strategy was to stick behind the jab and that secured me another world title belt'
