Boko Haram: 82 Boko Haram members killed, 313 arrested in Borno


Hehehe.......Theatre Commander, Command and Control Centre, Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, on Wednesday said, the military had killed 82 Boko Haram terrorists, cleared 630 settlements and rescued 468 persons abducted by the terrorists group within the last one month.
General Attahiru who was speaking at a press conference with journalists in Maiduguri said the effort was not without a price, as 6 soldiers were killed while 5 others were wounded in action.

He sad, in the cause of the operation, the army recovered 17 automatic weapons and 14, 771 rounds of ammunition found under rocks and along bush path in Magumeri and around Madara mountain areas.
Speaking on what the military is doing with regards to the attack on oil workers, which some of those abducted are still under captivity, the Theatre Commander said, ” We have arrested a Boko Haram suspect and the mastermind of the ambush on oil worker at Borno Yesu along Gubio, Magumeri road. The Commander, Abu Mainok is currently under our custody and undergoing investigation.
“In the same month under review, we had a total number of 69 Boko Haram fighters denouncing their membership of the sect, and surrendered themselves to our troops in various locations in Borno,” he added
On the abduction of the 3 staff of the University of Maiduguri and the 14 women abducted while escorting the corpse of a female police officer along Maiduguri, Damboa road, on 29th of June 2017, General Attahiru said, the command is working assiduously with he Borno command of the Nigeria police to rescue the victims.
General Attahiru also told journalists that, the military had arrested 313 Boko Haram militants who are currently undergoing investigation. He added that among were a number of children willingly donated by their parents to carry out suicide missions for the Boko Haram terrorists group.
The theatre commander while reiterating the commitment of the Nigerian Army in the ongoing fight against Boko Haram in the Northeast, urged the residents of the region to come up with useful information about terrorists locations and hideouts so as to help the military to end the war.
