INTERESTING.....See the Type of Bra Nursing Mothers Must Wear to Avoid Breast Sagging - Experts

Nursing mothers have been warned to use push up bras to avoid breast sagging
hehehehe.... Nursing mothers have been warned on the type of bra they should use in order to avoid breast sagging.
Chief Consultant, Obstetrician and Gynecologist, National Hospital, Abuja, Dr. Efena Efetie, on Monday said that firm brassier could help prevent breast from sag after six months of exclusive breastfeeding.

Efetie said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on the sideline of the 2017 World Breast Feeding Week, themed, `Sustaining breastfeeding together.’

He described as erroneous the perception by most nursing mothers that exclusive breastfeeding could lead to sagging breasts, thereby denying the child the much needed breast milk.

According to Efetie, the main factor for sagging breasts is the lack of support with a firm brassier.

“The use of firm brassiere during breastfeeding and after weaning could help tone back the breasts.

“After breastfeeding a child, the breasts can never be the same as they were before the conception; the firmness can, however, be maintained with proper care,’’ he said.

He said sagging of the breasts could be as a result of most nursing mothers’ consistent tying of wrapper around the chest, which further affects the breasts’ muscles.

The gynecologist noted that such practice, over time, weakens the ligaments and could cause the breast to sag.

He, however, said the benefits of breast milk to a child outweigh the perceived negative effects on breasts.

Efetie warned that such psychological belief should be discouraged in the society.
