heheehehe....Factional Chairman of Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Otunba Segun Adewale, has claimed that the lingering crisis in the party is being caused by the 2019 presidential ambition of former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Stressing that the crisis in PDP is being orchestrated by some external forces struggling for the soul of the party towards 2019 presidential ticket, he held that there were forces working to install the ex-vice president as the party’s standard bearer in 2019.
The factional chairman said, in a statement, that Atiku is working to be nominated by the PDP from the outside rather than coming back to the party and join hands with well-meaning loyal leaders in the ongoing rebuilding efforts.
“If you x-ray recent activities in the party and comments of the Makarfi led illegal faction, it’s obvious who is working against the general interest of our party. Everything is about Abubakar Atiku’s ambition to be President in 2019. There is no point going through the back door as there is room within the party for every genuine member seeking elective office.”
The factional chairman went on to allege that the factions within the PDP had failed to reconcile because, “Makarfi reneged on the proposal that two of them step down and for former President Ebele Goodluck Jonathan to head the committee”.
