20 Celebrity deaths that shocked Nigerians in 2016

As 2016 comes to an end today, Fidelis Chidi blog has reason to call to memory celebrities the nation has lost to death in the cause of this year.
It will be recalled that many inevitably embarked eternal journey this year. They include movie stars, musicians, Directors and a host of others.

Sadly so, regardless of race, religion, geographical area, or time period, every human has wondered about the one fact of life that once you lose a loved one, there is always a great vacuum that can never be filled.
In no particular order, see some of the 2016 deaths recorded below…
1) Henrietta Kosoko – Actress and wife of veteran Nollywood act, Jide Kosoko, Henrietta, was said to have battled diabetes for a while before she died one week after her 52nd birthday, June, 9, 2016.
2) Stephen Keshi – Former Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Okechukwu Keshi died of heart attack at the age of 54 in the early hours of June, 7, 2016.
3) OJB Jezreel – Popular Nigerian music producer, Babatunde Jezreel, a.k.a. OJB Jezreel, died at the age of 49, after a relapse as a result of kidney transplant three years back.
4) Genevieve Nene – Fast rising Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nene, died May 3 after a brief illness. 
5) Kudirat Ajimati, has passed away in Ogun state on November, 15.
6) Bukky Ajayi – Ace Nollywood actress, Bukky Ajayi died July 6 at the age of 82 after battling with a heart-related disease.
7) Elder Maya – The ace actor, Martins Njubuigbo, popularly known as Elder Maya, died in October after battling a liver-related ailment.
8) No more loss – Popular singer and songwriter, born Olumuyiwa Osinuga, popularly called Nomoreloss, died of typhoid fever on March, 21.
9) Olamide David – Nollywood young actor, Olamid David, who played the lead role in Foluke Daramola’s movie, Cobweb, died at age 14 on January, 18, 2016 after he was mistakenly kicked in the stomach by another player.
10) Jab Adu – Legendary Nollywood actor, born Joseph Adu and popularly known as Jab Adu, died at the age of 83 at his home town, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
11) Festus Aguebor – The movie legend, Festus Aguebor, died in his early 70s died after a brief illness on February, 23.
12) Veteran Nollywood actor, Mike Odiachi, popularly known for his role in ‘Igodo’ died at aged 51 after a brief illness.
13) Popular Yoruba thespian, Mulikat Adegbola, popularly know by her stage name Ashabi Iya Adinni, died after a brief illness on December, 3.
14) Popular Yoruba Actor and Script writer, Alfa Lateef Itakure, famously known as Alfa Lati died after a brief illness.
15) Popular Kannywood actress, Aisha Dankano, popularly called Sima died at 40 in her house in Gwammaja area of Kano State on February 24.
16) President of Cinematographers’ Guild of Nollywood, Afam Chiazor died while shooting a movie in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital in October.
17) Former Chairman of Performing Musicians Employers’ Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Abuja chapter, Mr. Collins Adeyemi died in Abuja after he slumped in July.
18) Nollywood actor, Fred Ebhoria Ekata died of kidney disease in May, a disease which he suffered from for about a year.
19) Fast-rising Nollywood actor, Ceejay Perez died in a fatal motor accident in Onitsha, Anambra State on March 31.
20) Prominent Yoruba movie-maker and actor, Sikiru Adeshina, also known as Arakangudu, died in the wee hours of February 9 after reportedly making a noise from his sleep.
