hehehehe.....Normalcy has
returned to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, as members
of the Association of Resident Doctors, UBTH-ARD and the management of
the hospital have resolved the lingering crisis that denied patients
access to care for months.
Announcing
this yesterday at a briefing in Edo State, the President of the
Association of Resident Doctors in the hospital, Dr Owen Omoregbe, said
there was now industrial harmony in the hospital.
“We
wish to categorically re-state that there is now industrial harmony in
the hospital between the ARD and the hospital Management as underlined
by the bridging of the hitherto communication gap and the renewed focus
by all parties to move the hospital forward as well as aggrandize the
opportunities for the populace to access healthcare.”
Omoregbe
explained that the new era of understanding was predicated on the
robust engagements between stakeholders and the Management team led by
the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof. Micheal Ibadin.
Omoregbe
who admitted that the doctors might have in one way or another offended
the patients and the management of the hospital said: “On a daily basis
this on-going process gets strengthened with the progressive actions of
all stakeholders.”
While
we are imbrued with the ethos of the hipprocratic oath and annex the
utmost respect for our Chief Medical Director, CMD, Prof. Ibadin whom we
may have offended with the way we prosecuted our demands, and the
management team of the hospital.
He
thanked Oba of Benin ; Oba Ewuare 11, the CMD; Professor Micheal
Okoeguale Ibadin, the Past Chief Medical Director; Prof Eugene Okpere,
the President, National Association of Resident Doctors of Nigeria
