Subsidy removal: El-Rufai calls for calm, patience among Nigerians

Public officers must work for the people or be voted out in 2019 – El-Rufai
Hehehehe....The Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has called on Nigerians to be calm following Wednesday’s announcement of the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government and the attendant increase in the pump price of the products. It would be recalled that the former FCT minister was a prominent voice against a similar move by the former administration of Goodluck Jonathan in 2012.

Some Nigerians have lamented the price hike, and have also questioned the sincerity of politicians who were against the policy in the past, but, have embraced it now because they are members of the present administration.
While speaking on the matter, in a statement released by the Kaduna State government, El-Rufai called for calm and commended the orderly response of Kaduna people to the new policy.
The statement said, “The Kaduna State Government wishes to appeal for calm. It commends the people for the orderly response to the fuel price adjustment by the Federal Government, and requests their continued patience for the supply of petroleum products to improve.”
