hehehe..Management of Federal Medical
Centre, FMC, Owo, Ondo State, has accused resident doctors in its employ of
sabotaging efforts at restoring sanity to the hospital.
The management, in a statement
yesterday, signed by acting Head of Administration and Board Secretary, Lucky
Omoaregba, said the residents doctors were making attempts to reverse recent
development and progress recorded by the hospital.
It warned that all necessary
administrative measures would be taken to address indiscipline in the
institution.
The warning followed the ultimatum
issued by members of the Association of Resident Doctors, ARD, to the
management to address their grievances.
The management, which declared that
there was no strike in the hospital last week as reported in the media, slammed
ARD members for giving a bad impression of the institution.
The statement said: “We wish to
state that members of Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Federal Medical Centre,
Owo chapter, did not declare any strike as there was no dispute between the
association and management of the hospital.
“It is worthy of note that of all
trade unions in the hospital, the ARD curiously is the only union sabotaging
management’s efforts at restoring sanity to the hospital, all in an attempt to
blackmail management and reverse the development and progress within the period
of Interim Administrator’s assumption of duty.”
It said that normal clinical
services in the hospital were being effectively carried out by members of staff
of other unions, adding that ARD members who had overstayed their study period
were the ones instigating others against the management.
According to the statement, the
hospital would continue to provide qualitative healthcare services to members
of the public.
