Olanusi, an indigene of Supare in Akoko South West local government area of the State became the Deputy governor of the State in 2009 under the platform of Labour Party before he defected alongside the state governor, Olusegun Mimiko to the PDP in October, 2014.
We reports that the governor, Olusegun Mimiko and his Deputy have been at loggerheads ever since, resulting to media reports that the governor was making some moves to impeach him. However......The Ondo State government has reacted to the defection of the State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued and signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, the state government said Olanusi has the right to take decision on his political future.
The Statement reads, “The state government just received the news of the defection of Alhaji Ali Olanusi, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State to the All Progressive Congress.
“Though it came as a surprise, government acknowledges his right to determine his political affiliation and wishes him well.
