Iroko TV boss, Jason Njoku, says inherited wealth is mostly a burden to those it is bequeathed to.

 

In a tweet shared on his handle, Jason stated that his job and that of his wife, Mary, to their kids is done after giving them an education as he has no intention of leaving much wealth for them.

Actor Uti Nwachukwu has called out a man who he claims uses his name to scam women on social media.

 

In a post shared online today December 23, Uti issued a stern warning to the alleged scammer and threatened to work towards his prosecution should he repeat his criminal acts. He posted screenshots of the man's purported chat with women on social media.

EFCC arrests 21-year-old man for duping German woman of €17,000 after offering to help her recover €68k from a fraudster

 

Operatives of the Benin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested one Irabor Kennedy Osasogie for alleged fraud.

 

The anti-graft agency, in a statement on Friday, December 23, 2022, said Osasogie allegedly defrauded a German citizen, Antje of the sum of €17,000.

 

"The 21-year- old was arrested recently by the Commission following a petition by one Antje, a German citizen, complaining that the suspect defrauded her of €17,000," the statement read. 

 

The petitioner claimed that she met Osasogie through social media after she was defrauded of €68,000 by one Michael Patrick.

 

She alleged that Osasogie offered to assist her in recovering the money but further defrauded her of €17,000.  

 

Upon arrest, the suspect claimed he only received €12,850 from the petitioner.

 

The suspect will be charged to court as soon as the investigation is concluded.

 

Rivers government seals Atiku's campaign office over ‘violation of executive order’

 

The campaign office of Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate in Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital, has been sealed by the state government.

 

The campaign office was sealed on Friday, December 23, as directed by the state government following a court order.

 

Governor Nyesom Wike's media aide, Kelvin Ebiri told newsmen that the campaign office violated an executive order which prohibits the location of campaign offices in residential areas.

 

The statement read; 

 

“The Rivers state government approached a court which ordered that the place should be sealed up.

“The Rivers state executive order 22 prohibits the location of a political campaign office in a residential area. It was the court that ordered the place to be sealed up.”

Asked by the interviewer if he heard about the crazy rumor a while back that he was not Buhari, he replied

“Yes! People said I am somebody from Sudan. I didn’t bother with the name. Nigerians have mischievous ways of explaining themselves.”

 

Asked how he finds such jokes passed around, the President said;

“Is not funny because those who made those statement, they just want to be cheeky. They want to distract attention from the main issues.''

Landlord seeks help in locating family members of his female tenant who died in his apartment

 

A Nigerian man, Osita Osinachi, has come out to ask for help to locate the family members of one of his female tenants identified as Blessing Effiong who died in one of his apartments.

Posting via his Facebook page, Osita stated that the lady moved into his apartment in November and sadly died some days ago in the apartment after a brief illness. He stated that he was arrested by the police following her demise but that he was able to settle his way out. He is now seeking public help to locate her family members.

By 7;30pm dat same evening, I got a Call, dat she's back home,I quickly rushed to see her, when I arrived at her apartment, & asked her about her family members, dat if she can Provide me with their Contact, but she told me dat her Phone is Off, becos it's not Charged Bayii..

She Promised dat she will give me her family Contact d next Morning, dat she's feeling Sleepy Bayii..

NAICOM increases Third-Party vehicle insurance from N5000 to N15,000

 

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has raised Third-Party insurance coverage for motorists from N5,000 to N15,000 yearly with effect from January 2023.

 

The approval is contained in a circular titled: New Premium Rate for Motor Insurance and signed by the Director, Policy and Regulation, NAICOM, Mr Leo Akah, for the Commissioner for Insurance. The circular was addressed to insurance companies and dated Dec. 22, 2022.

 

“Pursuant to the exercise of its function of approving rates of insurance premium under Section 7 of NAICOM Act 1997 and other extant laws, the Commission hereby issues this circular on the new motor insurance premium rates effective from Jan. 1, 2023,” it stated.

The commission also stated that the Third Party Property Damage (TPPD) which is the limit of claims an insurer can enjoy on a policy for a private vehicle will now be N3 million for the new premium of N15,000. It stated that the limit for own goods would be N5 million, with a new premium of N20,000.

 

The insurance premium rate payable on staff buses is now N20,000 and its TPPD would be N3 million.

 

The statement further adds that commercial vehicles, trucks, and general cartage now have a TPPD limit of N5 million with a N100,000 premium rate; “special types’’ now have a TPPD limit of N3 million and a premium of N20,000.

 

Tricycles now have a TPPD limit of N2 million and a premium of N5000 while motorcycles now have a TPPD limit N1 million and a premium of N3000.

 

According to NAICOM, the Comprehensive insurance policy premium rate shall not be less than 5 percent of the sum insured after all rebates or discounts.

 

The commission threatened to sanction any warned insurers to be guided by the new policy as failure to comply would be appropriately sanctioned.

President Buhari has revealed that he lost two of his children from his late first wife, Safinatu Buhari, to sickle cell anemia

 

Safinatu was the First Lady of Nigeria from 1983 to 1985. She was the first wife of Muhammadu Buhari. She met Muhammadu Buhari at the age of 14 and they married in 1971 when she was 18. They had 5 children namely; Zulaihatu (deceased), Magajiya-Fatima, Hadizatu-Nana, Safinatu Lami and Musa (deceased). When Muhammadu Buhari’s government was overthrown by Ibrahim Babangida, she relocated to Kaduna with her children. However, they divorced in 1988.

May Yul-Edochie replies her husband after he publicly asked for forgiveness, insists she will not be cajoled into accepting polygamy

 

May Yul-Edochie has replied to her husband, actor Yul Edochie, who a few days ago came online to publicly ask for forgiveness for taking actress Judy, as a second wife.

 

Posting on her Instagram page , May pointed out that she has already forgiven her husband with regards to the issue on ground as it was in the interest of her mental health and inner peace. She mentioned that she has no hate for the father of her children but that as she had earlier stated, she will not be cajoled into accepting polygamy or be numbered as a wife.

'' I strongly believe that mistakes are a major part of human existence. It is our response to these errors that count. In other words, forgiveness is one thing, and righting a wrong is another.

FORGIVENESS is the highest | most beautiful form of love for me. There is no love without forgiveness, and there is no forgiveness without love.
