TODAY IS WORLD HYPERTENSION DAY*

*๐Ÿฉบ

Today we commemorate this world health day highlighting this year’s theme: *"Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer!"*

Hypertension, often dubbed the "silent killer," affects over 1.3 billion people globally. Alarmingly, many are unaware of their condition, leading to increased risks of heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure.

We all have a critical role to play in the fight against hypertension — a leading cause of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality worldwide.

What can we do?

✅ Prioritize Accurate Measurement:

Reinforce the use of validated devices and proper techniques in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

✅ Promote Routine Screening:

Encourage opportunistic BP checks during every patient encounter — especially for high-risk individuals.

✅ Educate & Empower Patients:

Counsel on lifestyle modification, medication adherence, and regular monitoring.

✅ Lead by Example:

Monitor your own BP and advocate for heart-healthy habits within the healthcare team.

Call to Action:

Let’s seize this opportunity to raise awareness and drive change — within our hospitals, communities, and professional networks.

Take Action Today:

✅ Check Your BP: Regular monitoring is crucial. Visit a clinic or use a reliable home device.

๐ŸŽ Adopt a Healthy Lifestyle: Embrace the DASH diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy, to naturally lower blood pressure.

๐Ÿƒ‍♂️ Stay Active: Engage in regular physical activity to maintain optimal blood pressure levels.

๐Ÿšญ Avoid Tobacco & Limit Alcohol: Both can elevate blood pressure and harm your heart.

๐Ÿง˜‍♀️ Manage Stress: Practices like yoga and meditation can help keep your blood pressure in check.

Remember: Early detection and proactive management can save lives. Let's prioritize our heart health and encourage others to do the same.

Hypertension is silent — let us not be.
