The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyeama, who disclosed this on his Twitter handle, wrote
''Eventually, 56 Nigerians and 4 Pakistanis were safely evacuated from Islamabad to Abuja on a chartered aircraft operated by TARCO AVIATION Co. Ltd.''
300 Nigerians were also evacuated from Dubai and arrived in Nigeria today, June 19. A tweet from the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission announcing their arrival reads;
''300 Stranded Nigerians in UAE landed in Abuja, Nigeria today, Friday 19th June 2020 via @emirates. All Evacuees are to go on Compulsory 14 days SELF ISOLATION according to the new Protocol by the Presidential Task Force on #Covid_19 ''
This brings to 1, 794 the number of Nigerians that have been evacuated back home since the global lockdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
