The Governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki has hinted that students at Junior Secondary School Class, 3 and Senior Secondary School, 3, would be prioritised ahead of the reopening of schools in the State.
Mr Obaseki had earlier directed schools in Edo to shut down in March as part of measures to curtail the spread of the Covid-19.
“As schools remain closed, rules for reopening are being developed in agreement with the Federal Ministry of Education, most importantly for students in JSS 3 and SS 3 who are preparing for their exit examinations.
“Just as we continue to expand screening and testing to religious groups/organisations and business establishments, we urge religious organisations and corporate bodies to assist us drive modalities for our new norm and cooperate with the designated health and security agencies in this regard.
“The 10pm to 4am curfew as directed by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 subsists,” he added.
