Death toll at the 8-storey building under construction that collapsed in Owerri, Imo state has increased to 15.
The 8-storey building along Yar’Adua Drive in Owerri, Imo State, collapsed on Friday April 30, 2020 and casualities have risen to 15, according to Mr Evans Ugoh, Head of the Imo/Abia State Operations Office of the National Emergency Management Agency.
The building collapsed at about 4pm when artisans were still working and a woman who was reportedly selling consumables to the workers on the site is said to be trapped under the rubble alongside her two children.
Efforts are being made to recover others still trapped in the building, although, twelve persons have been rescued so far
