REPORT OF THE 2 DAY FREE MEDICAL OUTREACH BY ANIOMA MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS FORUM INC AND G15 CLUB OF OBIOR HELD ON THE 6TH AND 7TH DECEMBER 2019 AT THE PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE OBIOR, ANIOCHA NORTH LGA.
G15 club of obior and Anioma medical professionals forum inc medical outreach programme took place at obior primary health centre ,obior on the 6th and 7th December 2019.

The programme provided free medical services to the indigent population of obior and environs.

Obior born former deputy Governor of Delta state,Sir Benjamin Elue ,

President of G15 club of obior ,Chief Frank Utomi and His executives(Dr chukwuka oside, Mr isichei,etc)
Chairman ,Anioma Medical professionals forum inc (AMPF) Dr Awunor Alexander Chidubem, Secretary Dr Okolie Ekenemchukwu Kenneth and other Executives and volunteers
Political appointees,clergy and the general public.

screening for Hypertension and diabetes mellitus
medical treatment/management of common ailments such as malaria,musculoskeletal diseases,hypertension, diabetes mellitus,etc
massive deworming of children
eye screening and dispensing of eye lenses
health education and nutrition tips
dental services(tooth extractions, oral hygiene instrutions,etc)
laboratory services(random blood sugar, urinalysis,malaria rapid test,hepatitis b assay)
A total of 610 patients were attended to.
The 10 commonest diseases encountered during the outreach are as follows:Image may contain: 2 people
Eye diseases(cataract,allergies,refractive errors) 40.7%
malaria 20.1%
hypertension 9.2%
peptic ulcer 8%
osteoarthritis 7%
diabetes mellitus 5%
acute respiratory infections 3%
pelvic inflammatory diseases 2%
dental diseases(tooth decay, gum diseases) 2%
.gastroenteritis 1.8%
The dental unit successfully had 18 tooth extractions on indications ranging from:
Acute apical periodontitis
Chronic periodontitis
Impacted 3rd molars
Grossly carious teeth.
The eye unit attended to 450 patients and dispensed 300 eye lenses to both old and new patients seen with other eye drops and medications given.
The laboratory unit had 150 patients screened for random blood sugar, 50 patients for urinalysis,200 screened for malaria parasite,20 patients for hepatitis b viral infection.
High point of the outreach was a very comprehensive health talk by Nurse Vivian Diji ,an assistant director of nursing services ,Delta state university teaching hospital, oghara, Delta state.Image may contain: 3 people
