Sheikh Ibrahim El-zakzaky, the leader of the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria aka Shi'ites and his wife, Zeenat, have departed Abuja for India to receive medical treatment.

The couple and other security personnel departed Nigeria for India from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja aboard an Emirate flight.

This comes after a Kaduna State High court on August 5th, granted them leave to undergo treatment at an Indian hospital of their choice.
