R. Kelly’s mugshot has been released after it was announced that the star is being held in custody after being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.


The embattled R&B singer, 52, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly turned himself in on Friday night at a Chicago police station after being charged with sexual abuse of 4 girls, at least 3 of whom were minors.

Prosecutors in Chicago hit Kelly with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse Friday morning, and 9 of the 10 counts involve alleged victims ranging in age from 13 to 16 years old. There are four alleged victims in total, and one of them is the subject of 4 different counts.

According to the criminal complaint, the allegations include oral and vaginal sex with girls between the ages of 13 and 17 and the allegations are extremely graphic.

A judge in the US has set bail at $1m (£760,000) for R Kelly who is charged with 10 counts of sex abuse.

The R&B singer is accused of the aggravated sexual assault of four women between 1998 and 2010. His alleged victims include three who were aged between 13 and 17 at the time.

If found guilty, the 'I Believe I Can Fly' singer who turned himself in to Chicago police on Friday after an arrest warrant was issued against him could face up to 70 years in prison.

In a Chicago court on Saturday, Cook County judge John Fitzgerald Lyke Jr who presided over last week's bail hearing for actor Jussie Smollett said the bail amount represents $250,000 for each of the people he is charged with abusing.

The judge called the allegations "disturbing."
