THIS POPULAR LADY IS IN SERIOUS TROUBLE

Hehehe.......This is a mail that was just sent to Fidelis Chidi blog. Read below...abeg

A drastic turn of the tide is imminent, following the emergence of incontrovertible evidence strongly indicating that Toke Makinwa’s account in her book “On Becoming” is not all there is to know about events leading up to her separation from her erstwhile husband Maje Ayida and that her book is nothing but an exaggerated fabrication.
This most recent development has come to the fore on account of damning revelations discovered proving that Maje Ayida and Toke Makinwa were legally separated 6 months into the marriage.

The leading defamation law firm in the UK, Carter Ruck, lawyers to top figures like Elton John, Simon Cowell, Chelsea Football Club and The State of Qatar have recently taken up Maje Ayida as one of their clients and in a warning letter addressed to Toke Makinwa on the 23rd of December 2016 highlighted a number of excerpts from the book that were untrue, specifically quoting as follows:

“… We highlight the fact that our client requested a legal separation from you within 6 months of your wedding to him in January 2014, when it became clear that the marriage was breaking down. A separation agreement was formally signed by you in July 2014…”

“It is therefore well documented that our client and you had agreed to separate by July 2014 (a matter which the book signally fails to record), and that this was, self-evidently far more than ‘’teething’’ difficulties as the book misleadingly describes the circumstances at the time”

Also, Heading the legal front in Nigeria is Kemi Pinhero SAN, whose firm has also served Toke Makinwa a letter, corroborating the issues raised by Carter Ruck letter and specifically demanding among other things that she:

“Withdraw from circulation all copies of the book and take immediate steps to call in all copies of the book already distributed and deliver up same at the place to be agreed upon by our client for destruction”

“Retract or cause to be retracted the said published words and tender an unreserved apology to our client by publishing the said apology in one full page insertion in three national dailies to wit: ThisDay, The Guardian and Punch Newspaper and on all your social media platforms including Instagram, Youtube, Twitter and Facebook”

Further stating that failure to comply with all of the demands will result in the commencement of legal action.

Social media is currently on fire with the news of Maje Ayida's lawyers writing Toke Makinwa to stop selling copies of her best selling book 'On-Becoming'.' Nether Toke nor Maje have issued any official statement but the fans are talking. While some agree with Maje's move, others feel Toke Makinwa has the right to tell her story...see more tweets abeg

It has been revealed that the estranged husband of Media personality/author, Toke Makinwa, Maje Ayida, has filed a law suit against her demanding that she stops the sale of the bestseller book that exposed their marriage, which was released in November 2016 and copies sold should be retrieved.

Toke Makinwa, who definitely has her legal team ready, is however promoting the book even more on social media and is currently on a promotional tour in Ghana.

Estranged husband of Media personality/author, Toke Makinwa, Maje Ayida, has filed a law suit against her following the release of her tell-all book, On Becoming, that documented the issues they faced in their relationship/marriage.

According to The Cable, Maje through his lawyers in the UK and in Nigeria, have asked that she stops the sale of the book that was released in November 2016. Maje is also asking that copies of the books that have been sold should be retrieved.

The letter of demand sent to Toke on December 23rd also asked that she should stop sales of the book on Amazon and itunes as well as on other channels.

In the book which became a best seller after it was released, Toke accused Maje of adultery, infecting her with sexually transmitted diseases among other allegations.

We had reached out to Maje but he declined reacting to the release of the book and its contents, saying he hadn't made up his mind on what his next course of action would be.

In the letter of demand, Maje stated that he had asked for separation six months after they got married in January 2014 and that they signed a legal separation agreement in July 2014. Maje also denied giving Toke any STD during their relationship, a claim she made in her book. Maje in the court papers also denied not contributing financially while they were married.

He stated that Toke's book has brought “public ridicule” to him and that his reputation has been “assaulted, injured and damaged.”

“His professional integrity as one of the leading health and wellness practitioners in Nigeria, and his professional credibility built over the years through dedicated hard work have been besmirched”the court paper stated.

Part of Maje's demands is for Toke to "Withdraw from circulation all copies of the book and take immediate steps to call in all copies of the book already distributed and deliver up same at the place to be agreed upon by our client for destruction.”

According to the letter, there will be commencement of legal action if Toke fails to “retract” the “published words” and tender a full page unreserved apology to Maje Ayida in three national dailies.

The letter of demand was said to have been delivered to Toke on Monday, December 23, 2016 and she was expected to have complied to the demands in Seven days.

Toke appears not to be faced by the letter as she is currently in Ghana to promote the book

Fitness expert, Maje Ayida has sent his lawyers to his ex-wife, Toke Makinwa over her tell-all book which he described as 'fabricated lies' and asked her to withdraw them. Toke Makinwa who is currently Ghana promoting the book just shared the message, "The Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace" on her Instagram page. This seems to be in reaction to the lawsuit.
