Supporters of the Governor of Osun State who is also the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, burst into wild jubilation in the state on Saturday evening because of his early lead in the result of the election.
At Ilesha, the home town of the governor, his supporters were at the market square, singing and shouting in praise of the governor and his party.
Some of the supporters were moving round the ancient town, holding brooms, the APC symbol.
At Osogbo, the supporters gathered round the roundabout close to the police command, singing and asking the security men to leave the state.
Holding brooms, the posters and banners of the governor, the jubilant supporters said the result of the election so far released had shown that the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Iyiola Omisore, had lost.
Facing the security men, they sand, “E se, e seo, e se o, e wa maalo,” which literally means “Thank, you so much, you may now go.”
Some of the  security men joined the supporters in the celebration.
At Ido-Osun, the joyful supporters derided the PDP for its alleged attempt to hijack the state.
The youths, who also sang in condemnation of Omisore and his party, said the APC was poised to take the Presidency.
One of them, Mr. Moses Adejare, said, “We have shown that we love our governor. We don’t want anyone to impose a leader on us.
“Those who are not satisfied are free to go to Abuja and become whatever they want to become.
“We have won this one. What we are aiming at come next year is the Presidency”
Some APC supporters were also seen at Okuku, accusing the Presidency of attempting to install Omisore as the governor.
“Those who want to make him governor at all cost can go and do that in their home states,” one of them declared.
